吴下阿蒙的典故

三国时，据有江东六郡的孙权，手下有位名将叫吕蒙。他身居要职，但因小时候依靠姐夫生活，没有机会读书，学识浅薄，见识不广。有一次。孙权对吕蒙和另一位将领蒋钦说：“你们现在身负重任，得好好读书，增长自己的见识才是。吕蒙不以为然他说：“军中事务繁忙，恐怕没有时间读书了。”孙权开导说：“我的军务比你们要繁忙多了。我年轻时读过许多书，就是没有读过《周易》。掌管军政以来，读了许多史书和兵书，感到大有益处。当年汉光武帝在军务紧急时仍然手不释卷，如今曹操也老而好学。希望你们不要借故推托，不愿读书。”孙权的开导使吕蒙很受教育。从此他抓紧时间大量读书，很快大大超过一般儒生读过的书。一次，士族出身的名将鲁肃和吕蒙谈论政事。交谈中鲁肃常常理屈词穷，被吕蒙难倒。鲁肃不由轻轻地拍拍吕蒙的背说：“以前我以为老弟不过有些军事方面的谋略罢了。现在才知道你学问渊博，见解高明，再也不是以前吴下的那个阿蒙了！”吕蒙笑笑：“离别三天，就要用新的眼光看待。今天老兄的反应为什么如此迟钝呢？”接着，吕蒙透彻地分析了当前的军事形势，还秘密地为鲁肃提供了三条对策。鲁肃非常重视这些对策，从不泄露出去。后来，孙权赞扬吕蒙等人说：“人到了老年还能像吕蒙那样自强不息，一般人是做不到的。一个人有了富贵荣华之后，更要放下架子，认真学习，轻视财富，看重节义。这种行为可以成为别人的榜样。”
