春秋时期，楚国将军公子围与郑国的丰氏订立婚约，他想借迎亲的机会偷袭郑国，就带兵到郑国来，郑人识破他的诡计，坚持不让他不让他进城，公子围游说这样做会让他得到君主的重用，除此之外还会让天下人耻笑。郑人坚决不允，他只好独自进城完婚。
