唐朝时期，幽州节度使张守濛派安禄山领兵6万进攻契丹，安禄山兵败被押回长安交唐玄宗处理。唐玄宗见他膀圆腰粗，问他武艺如何？安禄山回答说射箭能左右开弓，十八般武艺，样样都会，还懂得6种少数民族语言。唐玄宗赦免并重用他造成安史之乱。
